What is gold ownership?
Physical gold ownership refers to the buying and owning actual gold in the form of gold bars (or bullion), gold coins or other tangible shapes.
This means you can directly own gold that you have purchased online because it is backed by real gold assets which can either be bought or sold on online markets or kept at a secure location, such as storage facilities like a gold vault. With Equiti Gold, you can also receive gift of gold from other Equiti Gold users instantly.
People buy gold to protect their wealth or grow their savings because gold usually keeps its value even if other financial assets, like currencies or stocks, lose value. Another major benefit of gold purchasing is that it is one of the world’s most popular commodities, which means it is simple to sell at anytime.
How do I gift gold?
You can instantly send gold assets to another Equiti Gold user by logging into the app and tapping ‘Gift’ in the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen.
Once the Gift window appears, select ‘Gift gold’ to send to another Equiti Gold user or ‘Receive gold’ to find your QR code for accepting gold gifts.
To send gold as a gift, scan the Equiti Gold app user’s QR code then enter the amount of gold you’d like to send. Review your order and tap ‘Confirm gift’ to instantly gift physical gold to your friends or loved ones.
How can I get gold delivered?
Login to the Equiti Gold app and tap ‘Deliver' to request physical gold to be couriered to the location of your choice. You can order from 50g to 1kg of gold bullion in a single transaction, and each order can take up to two working days to arrive if the order is made within Equiti Gold’s outlined working hours. There is no limit to how many orders you’d like to make.
Physical delivery is currently available solely in the UAE, and all gold bars or coins are UAEGD certified and sourced from investment-grade refineries. Your gold will be exclusively minted and stamped upon your request, and you can choose the denomination and quantity you’d like delivered. Please note you will need to be physically present with your Emirates ID or a Passport to receive your gold delivery.
How do I sell gold?
To switch gold assets to supported currencies like USD and AED, open the Equiti Gold app and tap ‘Sell’ then enter the amount of gold and select the currency you’d like to exchange it to. Once you’ve entered your order details, tap ‘Confirm'.
How do I buy and sell, gift or deliver gold?
You can buy and sell physical gold assets and hold them in your digital wallet by tapping ‘Wallet’ at the bottom navigation panel of your Equiti Gold app.
Buy gold: Tap ‘Buy’ at the far bottom left of your app screen and select the amount you’d like to buy. First you’ll need to have deposited funds into your Money Wallet.
Sell gold: Tap ‘Sell’ at the bottom left of your app screen, then enter the amount in grams you’d like to sell and select the currency you’d like to receive. Your Money Wallet will then be updated, and you can return to ‘Wallet’ to check your balance or request a withdrawal of funds.
Gift gold: Tap ‘Gift’ at the bottom right of your app screen and follow the steps to scan your gift receiver’s QR code.
Deliver gold: To order gold bars to a location of your choice in the UAE, go to the far bottom right of your app screen and tap ‘Deliver’. You will then see the bar weights and quantity of gold available based on your Gold Wallet balance, and you will need to hold over 50 grams to make a delivery. Select how much you’d like to have delivered home, or top up to order larger sizes. All gold is personally minted by UAEGD certified refineries and is delivered in gold bullion or gold coins.
Is my gold insured?
Yes, all physical gold by Equiti Gold is insured throughout the making and delivery process up until you successfully receive it. Only verified, Equiti Gold users are able to accept gold deliveries and must present their identification to complete the delivery process.
